The concept of tuakana-teina, an integral part of Māori society, is like a buddy system. An older or more expert tuakana (brother, sister or cousin) helps and guides a younger or less expert teina (originally a younger sibling or cousin).
This morning some tuakana from Ōrongomai came to help the Whio teina create some Kandinsky-inspired art circles.
We look forward to hosting more fun activities from our tuakana this year!
